Meet Misty M. Richmond PhD, PMHNP-BC, a clinical counselor with Lee Side Wellness

Dr. Misty M. Richmond PhD, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience as a nurse and over 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. She has skills in medication management and counseling and is certified to work with individuals aged thirteen and older. Her areas of interest include issues of adjusting to life changes, stress, trauma and empowerment. She is actively involved in research in the field of psychiatric treatment.

Dr. Richmond works full-time as the director of the psychiatric nurse practitioner program at Wright State University. Her work there is focused heavily on the quality and content of advanced practitioner education, necessary for her classroom work with psychiatric nurse practitioner students. She also has an interest in health care policy and has been involved for years at the state and federal level with issues of patient's rights, advancement of nursing practice, and regulations regarding reimbursement and coverage.
